Bought coated Dyneema and ropestopper beads to tie the corners of the sail to the yard and boom. This replaces the ropes with reef knots which are prone to untying themselves. Fixed the reefing system and tested with one, two and three reefs. When setting the third reef I used dyneema strops to tie the first and second reef to the boom.

Sailed for the first time with Hatseflats. Took Hatseflats and Klarie to the 'Vissershang' marina in Hank. Rowed to the Aakvlaai and set sail. Rowing went OK with one person rowing and the other sitting on the floorboard.

There was not much wind. Hatseflats accelerated well in the gusts. The kicker did not work on both tacks so I need to sort that out. One of the belaying pins seemed to bend under the strain of the lashing of the mast. Need to fix that as well. On the way back I had to tack in the narrow canals. This went OK. On the whole Hatseflats seems to be balanced. Klarie had to sit on the floorboard when I was short-tacking upwind.

Getting the boat in and out of the water was no problem at all with the Pega breakback trailer.
