Building Hatseflats

20080720

During the weekend I finally managed to finish most of the project:
  • painted the inside of the boat with two pot polyurethane paint (DD coating) on Friday evening. The dispensable soup bowls which I had been using throughout the project just melted away within 20 minutes. So I used them for mixing the paint and hardener only and then poured out the paint into a bucket for roller brushes.
  • Painted outside on Saturday morning after buying a gas mask because of the horrid smells.
  • Bought a 20 mm aluminium tube, two small 26cm tyres etc for the most simple trolley ever.
  • Painted inside on Saturday evening. Last coat to go on the interior. Rolled most of the surface for a thicker layer of paint.
  • Painted outside on Sunday morning after a quick (dry) sand with 180 grit sanding paper
  • Made rudder fit better
  • Made a trolley out of two wheels, alloy axle (20mm) and 30x90mm fir plank.
